All the Heart
Say hello to Mason, 11 months <3
Mason has Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome. He was born with half a heart, and has since gone through 2 open heart surgeries. Mason has been in hospital since he was born, but was finally well enough to go home just before Christmas! And now off his feeding tube in the past couple of weeks he is doing incredibly well feeding and drinking on his own.
The road to recovery will still be an ongoing one with further surgeries, and there may come a time when he will need a heart transplant, but for now Mason and his family are making plans for a brighter future and will be celebrating Mason turning one next month.
Mason may only have half a heart, but his life is full of love <3
A few words from Mason’s parents:
“Our son Mason, our little Miracle, our Heart Warrior! The journey we have taken as first time parents has been tough, however seeing him smile everyday and his presence makes it so worthwhile. He, along with every person we met at the Brompton define the word ‘resilience’. He may have half a heart but his heart is much bigger than anyone’s I know! He is our hero. We are forever grateful for the medical research and the help we have received towards his care. We are very proud to have you as our son!”

A huge thanks goes to The Butterfly Wishes Network http://www.butterflywishesnetwork.co.uk/about.html a non-for-profit organisation for families like Mason with life shortening conditions. The Butterflies Team would welcome families to get in touch to organise a session, and photographers to come forwards to offer their services for families up and down the country.
For now I will leave you with these photos of a loving family and a very gorgeous little boy
